 Strainstall have recently supplied two miniature load cells for a marine vessel. Rated at 3000 lbs and 5000 lbs (1.5 tonnes and 2.5 tonnes approximately) , these tiny load cells are smaller in diameter than a £1 coin. They are to be installed in a double thrust assembly of a bearing box that takes the load from the propeller drive to measure the thrust. These newly designed load cells are ideal for applications here there is a limited amount of space, but still a requirement to measure large loads. Manufactured from high tensile stainless steel for strength, these load cells have been designed to be extremely robust, accurate and suitable for use in the harsh marine environment.
