Telemetry systems have the additional advantage of being far more convenient to use, and they also eliminate the problems associated with long lengths of trailing cables which can easily become snagged and are prone to damage. A single reciever can be used to measure the output from multiple load cells and telemetry systems are also ideal as portable systems for use at several different sites.
