Underwater Load Cells

Strainstall's underwater compression load cells have been specially designed
for long-term service on offshore Tension Leg Platforms (TLP's) and other similar structures. The underwater load cells are construced from a single billet of high tensile stainless steel with a welded cap and tested after gauging to meet the requirements of underwater usage. After installation access to underwater load cells is very limited, so they have been designed for optimum reliability.

These high specification underwater load cells are used in groups of three around the mooring tendons of the TLP to give a measure of the load in the tendon. Dual circuits (strain gauge bridges) are fitted with dual connectors and output cables to the data handling system on the TLP.
